Surya Shakti is an active form of the Sun Salutation. It is an ancient yogic practice which is a powerful sequence of 18 postures. “Surya” means “Sun,” and “Shakti” means “energy”. This process helps to strengthen the ligaments that hold the skeletal and muscular structure together.

Surya Shakti is designed as a holistic process and cultivates great physical fitness and strength.

Precautions

  • Pregnant women and people with active hernia should not practice Surya Shakti. 
  • People with any injury/disease/artificial joint replacement should consult a doctor before practicing.
  • Since surgeries and individuals may vary in severity and healing time, ensure to consult a doctor before starting the practice.
  • Any major open surgery must wait at least 6 months to do any practice.
  • Laparoscopic surgery, if no complications, can practice after 6 weeks.
  • Must do all practices slowly & gently initially. If noticing any discomfort, advice to stop and allow more time for recovery.
